The product is a secure API-based copy protection system that enables developers to insert copy protection code into their software and tie it to a particular computer without altering the registry or creating easily crackable "fingerprint" files. Software protected in this way is then managed via the Nalpeiron activation service.

The SDK supports many development languages including Visual Basic, Visual C++ and C#, Microsoft's .NET, Borland C++, Delphi and Xcode. Supported applications include Macromedia Director and Microsoft Office files (Access and Excel).

PRO-Tector SDK for Windows provides protection against imaging technologies such as Norton Ghost, and virtualisation systems such as MS VirtualPC and VMWare.
